Space for New Therapists: Support Group

As a new therapist, you may feel the weight of your clients’ struggles, balancing the demands of your new career and personal life, and the internal pressure to always be “on”. You give so much to others, yet finding a space for your own humanity—your feelings, your needs, your growth—can feel elusive.

In this group, we offer a space for you to reconnect with yourself. It’s a place where you can come as you are, with all the complexities and emotions that make you human. Here, you are invited to honor your own journey, without needing to have it all figured out. Together, we will explore what it means to be present with ourselves—our imperfections, our vulnerabilities, our strengths—so that we can be more present with our clients, not from a place of performance or pressure, but from a place of deep connection.

In the rush to care for others, it’s easy to lose touch with the very core of who you are. For many of us, we are called into this field because of patterns of relating that reinforced self-abandonment. Yet, to really show up for ourselves and our clients, we need to be grounded in our authenticity. This group offers an intentional space where you can slow down, reflect, and simply be with yourself in a compassionate and grounded way. By making space for your own humanity, you’ll naturally begin to expand your capacity to hold space for the humanity of your clients—without the weight of self-judgment or the pressure to “do it right.”

This isn’t about following a prescription or process. It’s about creating a shared space where you can let go of the roles and expectations and reconnect with your deeper self. In doing so, you’ll discover a new way of being with your clients that is rooted in authenticity and shared vulnerability.

  • A non-judgmental, supportive environment where you can show up as you are.
  • Space to explore your own inner world and emotions, without the need to fix or solve.
  • The opportunity to witness and be witnessed by other therapists, fostering genuine connection.
  • A chance to cultivate a deeper relationship with yourself, and in turn, deepen your work with clients.
  • A grounding space where vulnerability is honored, and being human is celebrated.
  • New therapists who long to feel more connected to themselves and their work. How do we define “new”? Whether you are still in graduate school, or are newly licensed, if you feel “new” that’s all that matters here.
  • Those who are seeking not just strategies or solutions, but a space to breathe, reflect, and be.
  • Therapists who are ready to hold space for their own humanity, so they can do the same for their clients.
  • Those who feel the weight of burnout or imposter syndrome and are seeking a more compassionate way of being in their work and life.

This group isn’t about achieving or fixing; it’s about learning to be. It’s about creating space for yourself, so that you can expand your capacity to hold space for others. You’ll walk away not with a to-do list, but with a greater sense of groundedness and connection to who you are—both as a therapist and as a human being.

I’m Jaclyn, the holder of space for this group. I’m not just a therapist but a fellow human who understands the weight you may be carrying. I’ve been where you are—balancing the work I love with the need to create space for myself. Over the past decade+ in this profession, I’ve learned the importance of honoring our shared humanity and the art of holding compassion for both ourselves and others.

I created this group because it’s the kind of space I needed when I was in your shoes. I’m here to walk alongside you, not as an expert, but as someone who understands the journey. Together, we’ll show up authentically and support each other in a space where our shared humanity is at the center.

If you’re ready to step into a space that honors you, your humanity, and the work you do, we invite you to join us. Together, we’ll cultivate a way of being that nurtures not just your clients, but you. You are worthy of this space.
